NC woman on cell phone crashes into tractor-trailer

GASTONIA, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman crashed into a stopped tractor-trailer in Gastonia while distracted by her cell phone, police say.

Aundrea Parsons, 37, of Charlotte has life-threatening injuries after the crash Sunday morning.

"It is believed Ms. Parsons was distracted by her cell phone by trying to make a call at the time of the collision," Gastonia police said in a prepared statement.

The tractor trailer was pulled over on the side of the highway with the hazard lights on when Parsons crashed into it.
