Friendly sea otter joins kayaker on the water

A bold and photogenic sea otter made friends with a kayaker in California.

John Koester said the otter started swimming over to the boat, swam right next to it, and hopped right in with him.

"He rolled onto his back, he started scratching his head," recalled Koester. "He turned around, started sniffing my shoes."

Apparently, it's not the first time a sea otter has come that close. The kayak company actually holds and orientation to make sure people know how to handle the otters in the area.
