Crash causes backup on I-40 eastbound near Airport Blvd

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The congestion on I-40 eastbound has subsided following a crash Thursday evening.

The crash happened on I-40 East near Airport Boulevard before 10 p.m.

The backup was cleared around 10:30 p.m.

Officials have not commented on how the crash occurred or the status of those involved.
