Arrest warrants show Josh Gordon blew a .09; the legal limit in NC is .08.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh police charged an NFL player with drunk driving early Saturday morning.

Cleveland Browns' wide receiver Josh Gordon was arrested on Glenwood Avenue.

Arrest warrants show he blew a .09. The legal limit in North Carolina is .08.

Gordon was released a few hours later after posting a $500 bond.

Raleigh police say an officer pulled Gordon over after spotting him driving 50 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone.

Arrest warrants also indicate Gordon was driving a car with a North Carolina license tag, but Gordon has no family in Wake County.

Records show Haydn "Fats" Thomas paid the $500 to bond out Gordon. Thomas has been linked to rental cars driven by former UNC Chapel Hill basketball player PJ Hairston.

This isn't the first time Gordon has faced trouble off the field. He missed two games last season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He also failed another drug test during the off-season, and he's awaiting a hearing for a speeding and marijuana possession charge from May.

The Cleveland Browns released a statement, saying "we are aware of the matter... and are disappointed to learn of this situation... We will comment further at the appropriate time."
