WHISPERING PINES, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 10-year-old girl from Moore County had the day of a lifetime thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Evie Wentz's family, wish-granters and the entire community came together on Saturday to surprise Evie with her very own magical tree house.

The tree house took about four months to build and it would not have been possible without the generous contributions of donors in the community.

Dana Carroll funded Evie's wish in memory of her 19-year-old son, Remy Cox, who was tragically killed in a bicycle accident last year.

In February, Evie got a second chance at life thanks to the generosity of a family friend who donated one of her kidneys.
