Jonathan Roman is accused of shooting 2 people, killing one

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A shooting at a Raleigh sports bar killed one person and injured another early Saturday morning, police said.

Saturday evening police said they arrested a suspect, Jonathan Roman, 19, and charged him with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Around 4:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to Mambo 69 Sports Bar on New Hope Church Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two people in the parking lot who had been shot. Felipe Nerve Gonzalez Arrellano, 22 and Diana Medelin Ibarra-Luna, 22, were taken to WakeMed.

Ibarra-Luna died as a result of her injuries. Arrellano has been treated and released.

Roman was taken to the Wake County Detention Center.

Two years ago in June, 2014, there was a fatal shooting at Mambo 69. One person was killed and two suspects were charged in that incident.
