Man hit by car while walking in crosswalk

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating after a man was hit by a car and rushed to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened on Emperor Boulevard between I-540 and South Miami Boulevard.

Police said the man was walking in a crosswalk when a car hit him.

The driver told investigators he was blinded by the sun at the time.

Police said the driver has been charged with driving with a suspended license.
