PHARR, Texas -- Drug smugglers got creative trying to ship more than a ton of marijuana into the U.S. from Mexico. But U.S. border patrol officers and their canines sniffed it out.
Patrol officers in Texas found 2,500 pounds of pot hidden in a batch of fresh carrots.
Investigators found nearly 3,000 carrot-shaped marijuana packages hidden among real carrots.
The drugs have a street value of nearly $500,000.
