TURLOCK, CA -- A six-month-old girl is recovering after being bitten in the face by her family's pit bull in California.
Police say the girl was eating a snack at her family's home in Turlock when the dog attacked her.
The girl's mother, who was in another room when the bite happened, pulled the dog off the child before calling 911.
Police and paramedics were soon at the scene.
The child was flown to UC Davis Medical Center, where she is in fair condition.
Animal control will decide the dog's fate after a 10-day quarantine.
Police say no one will be charged in the attack, which they called an accident.
