Couple charged with felony after 3-year-old tests positive for meth

MCDOWELL COUNTY -- A Marion, North Carolina couple is facing several charges after their 3-year-old tested positive for methamphetamine.



WLOS reports Kirk William Biddix, 27, and Ellen Marie Pritchard, 27, were both charged with felony child abuse, felony negligent, child abuse inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor after a police investigation into a DSS report about possible drug use in their home.



Two children, ages 2 and 3, were living in the home with the couple.



The 3-year-old tested positive for methamphetamine. The 2-year-old's tests were negative.



Marion is about 40 miles east of Asheville.
