Accidents cause traffic problems in Johnston County

JOHNSTON COUNTY (WTVD) -- Two separate accidents impacted drivers along Interstate 40 and NC-42 in Johnston County Friday morning.

Traffic is currently blocked along eastbound NC-42 near I-40, just east of Clayton, due to an accident.

Another crashes blocked both directions of I-40 just north of Four Oaks in Johnston County two hours earlier.

Just after 7:30 a.m., authorities had to close both westbound lanes and the right eastbound lane at exit 319 for NC-210 due to a multi-vehicle crash.

Westbound lanes were reopened to drivers about an hour later, but the eastbound lane remained closed until about 9 a.m.

Details surrounding both accidents have not been released.
