Raleigh (WTVD) -- A driver is facing driving while impaired and texting while driving charges in connection with a crash that shutdown a section of Interstate 40 for a couple of hours early Tuesday morning.
The accident happened just after midnight along the eastbound lanes of I-40 near Airport Boulevard in Raleigh.
Troopers said Damian Leon Miller crashed his 2006 BMW into the back of a pickup truck that was parked along the shoulder of the interstate to help an 18-wheeler with a flat tire.
Miller suffered minor injuries in the accident, but the driver of the pickup truck and 18-wheeler were not hurt.
I-40 was reopened just before 2 a.m. after authorities cleared the scene.
