BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 2.2 magnitude earthquake was reported Monday morning in western North Carolina near Asheville.
According to the USGS, it happened about 3 miles northwest of Weaverville around 10:45 a.m.
Buncombe EOC reported to WLOS they have taken a few calls reported hearing what sounded like thunder, but there have been no reports of damage.
