ROCKY MOUNT, N.C (WTVD) -- Funeral services were held Saturday in Rocky Mount to remember three young men killed last week in a car crash.

Rocky Mount police crash investigators say bad weather, excessive speed, and worn car tires were all factors in the crash that killed 21-year-old Dennis Battle, 29-year-old Jason Britt, and 27-year-old Kyol Allen-Gailliard.

Family and friends gathered at Morning Star Church of Christ to mourn Battle and Britt. Both men were musicians who graduated from school in Nash County.

Allen-Gailliard was laid to rest earlier at Word Tabernacle Church in Rocky Mount. His father is Pastor James Gailliard of Word Tabernacle.

Gailliard eulogized his son, and addressed some of the questions swirling in the community about what led up to the crash, who was driving, and whether alcohol or drugs played a role.

"While some of ya'll waiting on the toxicology report, if we stuck a needle in your arm right now we would find some Jack Daniels, some weed, some coke and stuff in it," Gailliard said. "Tell your neighbor, don't judge nobody! Don't judge nobody!"

The three men were riding in Kyol Allen-Gailliard's 2001 Lincoln Sedan when the car left the road, hit a building and burst into flames.

Police determined Allen was not driving the car, but riding in the back seat.

Toxicology reports are still pending.
