I-95 southbound blocked near Smithfield while overturned truck removed

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (WTVD) -- All lanes of I-95 South were closed south of Exit 93 (Brogden Rd), near Smithfield, Wednesday while workers righted an overturned tractor-trailer.

Pictures from Chopper 11 HD showed the truck lying on its side along the highway shoulder. Traffic was being detoured off the road.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said the truck driver was headed south when he drifted off the road to the right and crashed.

Martin Wygonik, 55, of Waynesburg, PA was charged with failure to maintain lane control.

Neither Wygonik or a passenger were hurt.
