RALEIGH -- The North Carolina State Fair is less than two months away, and crews are just about done with a new chair lift that will be a permanent fixture at the State Fairgrounds.
Wednesday, ABC11 got a look at the whole new view you'll get from the State Fair Flyer.

"You'll be able to see the midway with all the activities going on there, and you'll be able to get a bird's eye view of a lot of the other areas on the fairgrounds," explained Robert Fulton, with American Sky Lift in Sanford.
Colorful seats will soon be mounted on cables to carry people across the midway. For seven minutes, you'll feel like you are sitting in a swing, gliding from one side of the fair to the other- all while suspended 45 feet in the air.
"You are going to be able to get photographs of the fair that you would not be able to ordinarily get," said Fulton.
Similar rides have been spotted at other fairs, but never one that takes riders this high.
"The ride will come in just like a chair lift that goes up and down the mountain, and it will come in and you'll just walk in there and just turn around and sit down," Fulton explained.
And everyone is welcome to the fair's newest attraction.
"Grandma and grandpa will be able to ride it, the entire family will be able to ride it," Fulton said. "It's gonna be the best seat at the State Fair."
The only restriction applies to children under 42 inches, who will not be allowed to ride alone.
The owner of the ride tells us he expects to have the seats installed by the end of the week. Crews will start doing test runs by Labor Day.
