Pedestrian killed in Moore County

SEVEN LAKES, NC (WTVD) -- Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident in Moore County Thursday morning.

Moore County officials said at 4:11 a.m., an 18-wheeler traveling east on Highway 211 struck a man who was crossing the road near McLendon Hills.

Troopers were still on scene at 11 a.m. Officials said they were unsure of the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Highway Patrol confirmed to ABC11 that the man was killed. The victim's identity was not released.

No charges have been filed.
