DURHAM (WTVD) -- A Durham man is facing charges following an early morning armed robbery at a Durham convenience store.
The incident happened just before 7:30 a.m. Friday at the Tobacco Plus Mini Mart in the 2000 block of Chapel Hill Road.
Authorities said the store's clerk told police that the suspect entered the store with a long gun and demanded money.
The clerk then pulled out a gun and began firing as the suspect fled. One of the bullets struck the back window of the suspect's vehicle, according to investigators, but no one was hurt.
A short time later, a police dog tracked the suspect to the 1500 block of Chapel Hill Road where officers found a vehicle matching the description of the one used by the robbery suspect.
Officers arrested 53-year-old Robert Miller of Durham and charged him with robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault by pointing a gun.
