HUBERT, NC (WTVD) -- A 30-year-old Onslow County man is being treated in Chapel Hill after deputies say he blew himself up in a meth lab.
It happened Tuesday in Hubert, North Carolina.
The Onslow County Sheriff's Department said 30-year-old William Tracy Allen Jr. was driven to a volunteer fire department with severe burns on his hands and forearms.
He told firefighters he was injured while burning firewood.
But firefighters were later called to a storage building on fire. Deputies then linked Allen to the blaze. They said there was a meth lab in the building.
Allen has not been charged while he's being treated.
