Pedestrian hit, killed in Holly Springs

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WTVD) -- Holly Springs police say a man was hit and killed along Avent Ferry Road Monday night.

It happened around 11:15 p.m. near Trotter Bluffs Drive.

Authorities said 52-year-old Patrick John McDonald was walking along the outbound side when he was struck from behind.

Police do not anticipate filing any charges in the case.
