Fayetteville police identify pedestrian killed

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Charges have been filed against a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian walking along a Fayetteville roadway late Tuesday night.



It happened just after 10:30 p.m., at Cliffdale Road near the intersection of Mill Cove Drive.



Authorities said the man died as a result of his injuries after being hit by a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by 23-year-old Latrice Jones.



On Wednesday, officials identified the victim as Brian Howard, 32, of the 900 block of Crescent Commons Way.



Jones has been charged with driving while license revoked.



Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department's Traffic Unit are investigating the fatality.



All lanes of Cliffdale Road between Brandermill Road and Mt. Gilead Drive were closed as authorities cleared the scene.
