RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police are investigating a deadly crash in Raleigh that left an 18-year-old driver dead and a juvenile injured.

Officers responded around 1:14 p.m. Saturday to the area of Arco Corporate Drive near Macaw Street, where they found a white Chevy Blazer on fire in the roadway.

Investigators say the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it ran off the road, struck two trees and caught fire.

The driver, identified as Abraham Karim Manrique Ponce, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries

A juvenile passenger, who was wearing a seat belt and sitting in the front seat, was able to get out of the vehicle and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the investigation into what led to the crash is ongoing.
