
SANFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- Sanford police have arrested two people in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old at The Oaks Apartments earlier this week.
Police said the shooting happened Wednesday morning at the apartment complex on Oak Branch Lane. The teen later died from his injuries.
Detectives said 19-year-old Naquan Tymarion Clegg, of Sanford, was arrested Thursday around 5 p.m. at his home on Brookfield Circle.
Clegg is charged with one count of murder and one count of discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle. He is being held in the Lee County Jail without bond and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
A second suspect, a 17-year-old boy, turned himself in to police around 11 p.m. Thursday. He is also charged with one count of murder and one count of discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.
The 17-year-old was taken to the Wake County Juvenile Detention Center and is scheduled for a first appearance Friday.
Police have not released additional details about what led to the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing.
