In Cary visit, NC auditor says probe into town's finances continues
Dave Boliek addressed the Cary Rotary Club on Tuesday and told ABC11 that there are more Town spending concerns under investigation.

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The North Carolina state auditor was back in Cary on Tuesday after a crackdown on wasteful spending.

Dave Boliek addressed the Cary Rotary Club just weeks after the state auditor exposed lavish spending on fancy meals, hotels, and custom Ray-Ban sunglasses for all council members -- all at the expense of taxpayers.

Boliek told ABC11 on Tuesday that the investigation into the town's finances continues.

"There are additional Town Visa card transactions and issues around those Town Visa cards that our team is investigating," Boliek said. "There also is spending outside of the Town Visa card context that our team is working to assure the taxpayers of Cary that their money is being spent the way they intended to be spent."

In the meantime, Cary town leaders have agreed to create a plan to boost financial safeguards.
