Deadly crash closes I-540 West near Leesville Road in Wake County

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A deadly crash shut down Interstate 540 West in Wake County near Leesville Road.

Raleigh Police told ABC11 that two cars were involved in the crash. One person was killed. There were no other injuries.

One car went off the roadway and crashed into a wooded area off the shoulder.

All lanes of I-540 have reopened.

The RPD Crash Reconstruction Unit is working on an investigation.
