
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man is facing murder charges after a shooting at a home in Fayetteville on Friday.
Police said officers responded to the 1700 block of Veanna Drive for reports of an accidental shooting just after 10 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Kwamee Dawson with a gunshot wound to his chest inside the home. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he later died.
Authorities said an investigation found that a "family disturbance" happened inside the home, resulting in Dawson being shot.
Doveon Wright, 26, of Fayetteville, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. He is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
