
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- An early morning shooting in downtown Raleigh left a man and a woman injured, Raleigh Police said.
Officers responded just after 1:45 a.m. Saturday to Glenwood Avenue and W Jones Street, where they found the two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims' injuries were described as non-life-threatening, according to investigators.
Police said it appeared that the gunfire erupted after an altercation between two men, one of whom shot the other. The woman injured was an innocent bystander, police said.
The shooting suspect was taken into custody at the scene and is facing several charges, including two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, carrying a concealed weapon, and discharging a weapon in city limits.
The man who was shot was charged with simple assault.
Police emphasized that the incident did not occur inside any business, and the investigation remains active.
