Deadly shooting in Durham under investigation

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Durham Police Department are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday.

Tavarus Joyner, 47, was found on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound in 200 block of East Umstead Street just before midnight.

He was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

In a separate incident, a 13-year-old was injured in a drive-by shooting around 9:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of Rosedale Avenue. The teen was walking when a vehicle passed by and fired in his direction. He is expected to be OK.
