Man assaulted after gun fired during Durham fight; no one shot

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man was taken to a hospital after being assaulted Saturday afternoon in Durham.

Durham police responded around 2:12 p.m. to a disturbance involving a weapon in the 1000 block of Lowry Avenue. Authorities said that during a fight, one person pulled out a gun and fired a shot. However, no one was struck by the gunfire.

An adult man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being assaulted. A woman was also taken to a hospital after complaining of chest pain.

Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip through Durham CrimeStoppers or call 919-683-1200. CrimeStoppers offers cash rewards of up to $2,000 for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers can remain anonymous.
