ASHEBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- An endangered red wolf named Ginger has arrived at the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro.
The three-year-old wolf was transported from the Wolf Conservation Center in New York, making a stop in Greenville, South Carolina, before reaching her new home.
Ginger was moved after failing to produce offspring with her mate. Officials reported that the transfer went smoothly, and she is in good health.
With only a few hundred red wolves remaining in captivity nationwide, her arrival is significant for conservation efforts.
