FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman has died after being struck by a car in Fayetteville during the weekend.

Police said 40-year-old Rheannon Denise Maurer ran in front of a red 2013 Hyundai near Raeford Road and Greenleaf Drive just before 3 a.m. on Saturday.

The driver of the car, a 27-year-old Raeford man, tried to avoid Maurer but hit her and collided with a 2002 Infiniti driven by a 25-year-old Raeford man.

Maurer was taken to a hospital but died Tuesday, FPD said.

Both drivers involved in the crash are cooperating with investigators, and no charges are expected to be filed, police said.
