RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Another chance of showers and storms is expected Thursday afternoon and evening.

Isolated flash flooding is possible, especially east of the Triangle. Isolated totals of 1 to 3 inches will be possible in heavier downpours and slow-moving storms.

Given the already saturated surfaces, these totals could produce quick rises on area creeks and localized flooding. Ponding of water on roads is likely.

Central North Carolina is also seeing one of the rainiest starts to the month.

A few storms will be possible on Friday, but the overall chance will be lower through the weekend. Morning fog and low clouds will also be possible each day.

The Crown Royal Drive dealership is situated next to the Pigeon House Branch Watershed. The body of water rose out of its banks and spilled over into the overflow parking lot, leaving every car in the lot a total loss.

Muhammad Ali is friends with the owner and spent the entire morning Tuesday cleaning. He, along with other staffers, power-washed mud from the floor inside the dealership's office. He made plans to clean up the slush left inside dozens of damaged cars in the parking lot.

"It's not going to be easy," said Ali. "The water was everywhere."

Muhammad said almost 50 cars in the overflow parking lot were submerged in water after heavy rain. The watershed flows from Crabtree Creek and eventually reaches the Neuse River.

A new daily rainfall record was set at Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU) on Monday with 2.34" of rain at the airport, breaking the previous daily record of 2.11" from 2001.
