Garner Police arrest 2 in internet crimes against children cases

GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- Garner Police have charged two men in connection with separate investigations into Internet crimes against children.

Kevin Mikael Jones is facing 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. William Gilbert Barfield is also facing 10 counts on the same charges.

The men were arrested Thursday during searches at their respective homes.

Authorities did not say whether the men knew each other.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), Raleigh Police Department, and the Wake County Sheriff's Office all assisted with executing search warrants at the residences.

These investigations remain active and ongoing, Garner Police said.
