Goldsboro man facing several charges involving children

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Goldsboro man is facing several charges related to child sex crimes, police said Tuesday.

The case started on Jan. 19, when the Goldsboro Police Department received a report alleging that three children were victims of sexual battery at a home in the city.

Police said the investigation identified three girls, ages 13, 8, and 7, as the alleged victims.

James Eric Phillips, 55, of Goldsboro, was identified as the suspect. He was arrested Tuesday at the police department and charged with four counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Phillips is being held on a $250,000 secured bond pending his first court appearance.
