The Wake County Sheriff's is still piecing together what led to the shooting. The Wake County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrived on Joe Leach Road and found two men and a teenager with gunshot wounds.

GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- A shooting near Garner sent four people to the hospital on Monday night, including a 17-year-old.

The incident apparently began at a neighborhood cookout near Hunters Farm Drive, Joe Leach Road, and Lassiter Farm Road.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrived on Joe Leach Road and found two men and a teenager with gunshot wounds. All were taken to WakeMed with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Another man walked into a Johnston County hospital with an apparent gunshot wound. His injuries were more serious, the sheriff's office said

No suspects are in custody, the sheriff's office said.

A person at the scene told ABC11 that the cookout was taking place when shots rang out. Another person said they saw a possible victim wave down an ambulance and then get inside.

ABC11 breaking news crews saw investigators going door to door, speaking to neighbors.

At WakeMed, a deputy was posted in front of the Emergency Department, and an ambulance arrived escorted by a Raleigh Police Department vehicle.

Garner police officers at the scene were helping to direct traffic. Joe Leach Road is closed from Ten Ten Road to Lassiter Farm Road as deputies investigate.

The sheriff's office said investigators will work through the night and asked the public for patience.
