Human remains found in Fayetteville woods

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is investigating after deputies found human remains on Thursday in the 1300 block of Deep Creek Road in Fayetteville.

The discovery happened in the woods just after 4:30 p.m.

The identity of the person was not immediately known.

The case is under active investigation.
