ICE fails to respond to FOIA request on Operation Charlotte's Web

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- After three months, Immigrations & Customs Enforcement still has not responded to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by the ABC11 I-Team.

The I-Team filed a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) on November 25, 2025 to get answers about the federal immigration enforcement operations in the Triangle related to Operation Charlotte's Web.

The request asked for details from ICE officials including who federal agents detained, what charges those people faced, and if those detained had arrest warrants out for them.

Based on the federal FOIA law, the request should have had a response with documents by now.

However, exactly three months since the FOIA was filed, the federal agencies still have not turned over a single document.

ABC11 has filed an appeal with ICE to get those answers to learn more about the operation and the people who were detained.

The I-Team is working to get those answers and will share those details once ICE responds to the FOIA request.
