Investigation underway following explosion, fire at Wake County home

WENDELL, N.C. (WTVD) -- An investigation is underway after deputies said an explosion led to a fire at a home in Wake County on Sunday morning.

According to the Wake County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to reports of an explosion that led to a fire in the 7200 block of Old Bunch Road near Doc Procter Road just before 10 a.m.

Emergency crews were able to put out the fire.

Deputies said injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
