Investigation underway after pedestrian killed by train in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh police officers and other emergency workers are at the scene where a pedestrian was hit and killed by a passenger train on Friday night.

It happened at approximately 5:41 p.m. in the 6300 block of Hillsborough Street.

First responders used flashlights to examine the nearby area and search for evidence.

The circumstances that led up to the collision are not yet clear, RPD said.

The road reopened just before 9 p.m.
