CLAYTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Clayton man is in disbelief after he won $2 million in the Labor Day Powerball drawing for $1.1 billion.
Daryl Steinhoff told the NC Education Lottery that he put together some family numbers for a Powerball ticket for Monday's drawing.
"The next day I got an email saying that I won something," he said. "I was ecstatic and in disbelief. I called my daughter and girlfriend."
Steinhoff bought his winning $3 ticket using Online Play. His Power Play ticket matched all five white balls in the drawing, winning one of the $2 million prizes that were won nationwide.
After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $1,435,001. Steinhorf said he plans to find a new home with his winnings.
The jackpot Powerball prize has yet to be won. Saturday's Powerball jackpot stands at a $1.7 billion annuity or $770.3 million in cash and ranks as the third-largest ever in U.S. lottery history.

A Wake County man is also counting himself lucky after he won more than $140,000 in a digital instant lottery game.
I was about to cash out, and then confetti showed up on the screen and said, 'You won the grand prize,'" Allen Peterson of Raleigh said. "I'm still in shock."
Peterson won the top-level 'Gold' jackpot on a $5 ticket in the Jackpot Spectacular game, which features a progressive jackpot that can be won at any time.
"I have never won anything like that in my life," he said.
After required federal and state tax withholdings, Peterson took home $102,837. He plans to invest his money and potentially start a business.
