RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Renovations at Lenovo Center continue ahead of the upcoming season, with new seating, upgraded amenities and other changes taking shape throughout the arena.
During a Thursday tour, ABC11 got a closer look at the ongoing improvements. The arena has undergone several changes this summer, including the installation of new seats. Aisles in the Lower Bowl have been reduced to create space for additional seating, and new stairs and railings have been added.
Season ticket holders may notice new seat numbers as sections are being renumbered as part of the project.
Some fans have welcomed the changes.
"I'm really pumped," Cynda Staniscia said. "I've seen some shots from the inside since they're redoing the seating. That looks like it's going to be really great."

New boards were also being installed ahead of the upcoming NHL season. Officials hope the arena will be ready by Sept. 15, when an event is scheduled at Lenovo Center.
"I think overall the stadiums really needed some work," Staniscia said.
Additional upgrades completed this summer include a refreshed third-level concourse, all-new bathrooms and a second grab-and-go concession area.
Phase Two of the renovation project remains in the planning stages and includes exterior changes that will be visible outside the building.
The entire project is expected to cost nearly $310 million. Though the price tag is significant, some longtime fans say the investment is worthwhile.
George Hogshead, whose family has supported the Carolina Hurricanes for more than two decades, said the renovations reflect the area's growth as a professional sports market.
"The cost alone is overwhelming, but I think it's a good thing to do," Hogshead said. "It's been interesting to see how the Hurricanes have brought pro-sports to this area ... it's just wonderful to see."
Following the team's Stanley Cup victory, fans are already looking ahead to the next season. Season ticket plans have sold out, but Staniscia said she plans to attend the opening game.
"It's just general at this point. So hop on there, get your tickets so you can be there on the day when we raise the banner," Staniscia said.
The Hurricanes' regular season is scheduled to begin at the end of September.
