
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- It's the end of an era for a beloved restaurant that has been part of Chapel Hill's fabric for 49 years.
On Tuesday, Mama Dip's Kitchen announced it was officially closed.
A year ago, the Southern restaurant closed its dining room and switched to take-out only.

In a social media post, the restaurant said its chapter on Rosemary Street has ended, but there is more to come for the brand.
Mildred Council, more commonly known as Mama Dip, started the eatery with just $64 and built it into a Triangle staple. Council died in 2018 at 89.
