
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man is facing charges after authorities said a gun was found inside his vehicle on school property.
According to Rocky Mount police, shortly after students were dismissed, a vehicle entered the campus and returned a short time later to the student parking lot.
Officers said a school resource officer (SRO) conducted an investigative stop on the vehicle driven by 26-year-old Aveon Vernon Braxton.
Police said Braxton had a concealed carry permit; however, the gun was not properly concealed and was present on the school property.
Braxton was taken into custody and charged with carrying a concealed gun and possession of a gun on educational property.
Authorities said there is no threat to students or staff.
