Man, woman killed in Roanoke Rapids shooting

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WTVD) -- Roanoke Rapids Police are investigating after a man and a woman were killed in a shooting.

Officers responded to Vance Street and 11th Street West on Monday morning for reports of shots fired.

An officer was nearby and noticed a vehicle leaving the area. He followed it to the Lincoln Heights area and detained the driver.

There was no immediate word on any charges or what led up to the shooting.

Police said there was no ongoing threat.
