Motorcyclist killed in crash involving Wake County school bus, NCSHP says

Officials respond to school bus, motorcycle crash in Willow Springs

WILLOW SPRING, N.C. (WTVD) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Thursday morning involving a Wake County school bus in Willow Spring, North Carolina State Highway Patrol said.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. on Kennebec Road at Bud Lipscomb Road.

According to NCSHP, the motorcycle, driven by as Michael Jones, 22, of Hope Springs, was traveling north on Kennebec. A Wake County Public School System bus was traveling in the other direction and was turning left on Bud Lipscomb. That's when the motorcycle ran into the school bus.

Willow Springs High school confirmed it was one of their buses involved in the incident. No students were on the bus at the time.

No charges have been filed yet, NCSHP said. This is an ongoing investigation.
