ZEBULON, N.C. -- In a story that continues to unfold, ABC11 has learned that law enforcement returned on Friday to the home of a Zebulon man charged with killing four of his children.
Wellington Dickens III was arrested earlier this week after calling 911, allegedly saying he "killed his children."
The scene is all clear now and ABC11 News has reached out to the Johnston County Sheriff's Office for additional information on what they were looking for.
The view from Chopper 11 shows authorities walking into a wooded area behind the home of Dickens III.
A Johnston County Sheriff's deputy parked in the driveway and other law enforcement vehicles were parked along the street in front of the house.
Based on the investigation and interviews, the four victims, 6-year-old Leah Dickens, 9-year-old Zoe Dickens, 10-year-old Wellington Dickens, and 18-year-old Sean Brasfield, were killed over a span of five months.
All four children's bodies were discovered in the trunk of a vehicle inside the garage.
Dickens' 3-year-old son was found alive inside the house and is safe.
Dickens was in court on Tuesday and Wednesday and is facing four counts of murder in this case.
