
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A pedestrian was killed Saturday night in Fayetteville.
Police said officers responded shortly before 8:15 p.m. to the 600 block of Country Club Drive. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
FPD stated that the preliminary investigation indicated the pedestrian stepped out into oncoming traffic and was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver stopped and remained there until the police arrived.
The pedestrian has been identified as 61-year-old Charles Aulbrey White.
Country Club Drive was closed between Clearwater Drive and Rose Hill Road in both directions. The roadway reopened shortly after 10 p.m.
