RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Demonstrators gathered in downtown Raleigh on Saturday as part of a nationwide day of action responding to recent shootings involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities in Texas and Maine.
The rally took place at Moore Square, where protesters voiced concerns about immigration enforcement and called for policy changes.
The demonstration comes just days after President Donald Trump overturned a temporary pause on most ICE traffic stops, a move that has renewed debate over immigration enforcement nationwide.
Organizers said the event was part of coordinated protests taking place in cities across the country.
Participants gathered with signs, speeches and chants throughout the afternoon, calling attention to the recent violence and expressing support for immigrant communities.
