Raleigh driver charged with DWI in deadly crash with pedestrian

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh Police have made an arrest after a deadly morning crash Tuesday.

Officers responded to the 2300 block of New Bern Avenue just after 1 a.m.

RPD said 57-year-old Alonzo Hinton was hit by a car as he tried to cross New Bern Avenue. He was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and later died.

Antonio Maurice Dickens, 44, was arrested and charged with driving while impaired.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
