LIVE: Raleigh leaders address 'teen takeover' violence from July 4th weekend
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh leaders discussed next steps for the city following several shootings and violence stemming from a teen takeover during the July 4th weekend.
Raleigh police say thousands of teens, many from outside of the city, descended first on Brier Creek then Glenwood South.
Fights broke out in Brier Creek before a shooting injured two people.
Police say the teens left Brier Creek for Glenwood South where officers responded to at least four different shootings. Six people were injured as a result of those shootings.
Raleigh Mayor Janet Cowell, City Manager Marchell Adams-David, and Police Chief Rico Boyce are set to address the violence during a City Council meeting Tuesday.
